Frosio, the Norwegian Professional Council for Education and Certification of Inspectors for Surface Treatment was established in 1986 to address the growing need for qualified personnel with Requirement for inspection (QC) and Documentation (QA).

Frosio acts through formulation of quality demands for surface treatment of inspectors and certifies inspectors in accordance with Norwegian standard NS476. Frosio’s approval and certification scheme for surface treatment inspectors have achieved high international recognition and this scheme is approved by Norwegian Accreditation according to NS-EN ISO 17024.

 Frosio’s objectives are:

• To elevate the quality level with all aspects of the surface treatment trades
• To act through formulation of quality requirements and developments of education programs for inspectors and operators connected to surface treatment
• To certify inspectors in accordance with Norwegian standard NS476
